WHAT IS NEET | Full Information about NEET
The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is the qualifying test for MBBS and BDS programmes in Indian medical and dental colleges. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

A candidate who wishes to study medical courses needs to have Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology as their compulsory subjects in Class 10th and 12th and must have passed these subjects. The candidate has to show their passing certificate at the time of the counseling round. Marks in Mathematics are not considered in NEET-undergraduate exam (NEET-UG).

Other than undergraduate courses, NTA also administers NEET post-graduation (NEET-PG), an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various MD/MS and PG diploma courses.

Marking Scheme

1. 4 marks for each correct answer

2. Minus 1 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer

3. 0 mark for unanswered questions

The duration of the examination is three hours and a candidate needs to answer 180 questions.

Aspirant age must be at least 17 years as or on December 31 of the year of admission.
Candidate should have a class 12th graduate with an aggregate mark of 50% with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually.
A little leverage has been given to candidates who belong to SC/ST/OBC category as the minimum marks required to obtain by them Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology opted together in HSC examination is 40% marks.
If a candidate belongs to the General Category, he or she can only apply for NEET 2020 till the age of 25. Further, a relaxation of 5 years has been given to the reserved categories aspirants i.e SC/ST/OBC.
